
A western disturbance have entered Pakistan and it is likely to cause light rainfall to moderate rainfall in upper Punjab, Khyber, Kashmir, Gilgit and Fata starting from Thurday night to Saturday night. The weather system is not intense but could produce some isolated hailstorms in some upper areas of Pakistan. Strong winds likely in those areas as well.
Where was the system before coming to us?
A disturbance first formed over Saudi Arabia and adjoining areas on March 3 and intesified into a strong weather system on March 10, at that time it produced heavy rainfall in Saudi Arabia’s city of Al Taif. The system kept causing and is still producing rainfall in some parts of Arabian Peninsula like in Afghanistan, Yemen, Oman, UAE, Iran etc. Now the system has entered Pakistan and then it will move to India after that it will enter China.
What Upper Pakistan will expect from this system?
- Islamabad to get light to moderate rain with strong winds and occasional thunder from tonight till Saturday.
- Lahore to get cloudy weather from tonight till Saturday, drizzle could occur during this time with windy conditions.
- Upper Khyber province, FATA, Gilgit and Kashmir to get moderate to isolated heavy rainfall during the next 3 days with gusty winds.
What Lower Pakistan will expect from this system?
The heat wave will move to India due to western winds and partly to cloudy weather could occur over Sindh and some parts of Balochistan from tonight till Saturday with windy conditions.
What happens to the Heat Wave?
It will enter India tomorrow (Friday). It will cause heat conditions there with cities of Gujarat province already touched 41C on Thursday. Temperatures will start to decrease in Sindh from tonight.
