The astonishing Astola Island is also identified as Jezira Haft Talar or ‘island of the seven hills’, basically it is a minute, unpopulated island in the Arabian Sea, in the territorial waters of Pakistan, some 25 kilometers south of Pakistan’s nearby shoreline and 39 kilometers southeast of the Pakistani fishing harbor of Pasni. Astola Island is Pakistan’s biggest offshore island and the only noteworthy offshore island in the northern Arabian Sea. Administratively, the island is part of the Pasni sub district of Gwadar District in Balochistan province.
The island is about 4 kilometers in length with a maximum width of 1 kilometer. Its uppermost point is 75 meters above sea level. Astola Island is a well-liked but stiff target for eco-tourism, even though there are no accommodation services on the island. Overnight visitors must camp on the island and bring their own supplies. Fishing, camping and scuba-diving expeditions are trendy. It is also a place for monitoring turtle breeding.
