Map of Karachi: Get aware of your location

During different weather events especially in rains Karachi experience largely different conditions in different parts of the city on any such day or even at the same time. So one needs to be quite aware of that where he lives and work or which areas are in which direction or district of the city.

Administratively there are Districts East, West, Central, South and Malir but an important thing needs to be in mind that there are many places of city have some differences in its actual geographical location from their official districts location (which I do not mean those are wrong but creates some misunderstanding among common people) that can be found in the city map also.

For example: North Karachi, New Karachi, Surjani Town, Khawaja Ajmer Nagari etc which are officially included in District Central are actually in north or even in far north or north-north eastern part of the city. Same as Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Maymar etc. are actually in far north-east part and Landhi, Korange, Ibrahim Haidri etc. are in far south-east part where officially these all locations are included in District East.

Orangi Town, Ittehad Town, Maghopir etc. are geographically located at north-west side and Kemari, Manora are in far south-west which are administratively located in District West.

Therefore in Monsoon when rain clouds normally come from north-east or east in Karachi they normally approach first Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Mayamar, Malir etc. and sometimes North Karachi. Other summer low clouds (stratus clouds that come with WSW winds with often drizzle) and during winter or WD rain clouds approach mostly from west earlier i.e. in Manora, Kemari, SITE, Baldia, Orangi etc.
