Chinese earthquake
An earthquake of 5.5 magnitude hit southwestern China on June 24, killing at least four people and injuring more than 100. On May 12, 2008, an 8.0-magnitude quake rocked Sichuan province killing tens of thousands in the province.
Afghanistan floods
Western disturbance ’11’ wrecked havoc in northern Afghanistan. WD ’11’ killed 37 people in Afghanistan and destroyed 100s of home. Series of heavy downpour and flash floods lashed the northern parts of the war-torn country. Afghanistan has seen some of the severiest weather in the year 2012.
Tropical storm Debby
The fourth tropical storm of the current year has formed in the Gulf of Mexico, Debby was forecasted to become a hurricane but its interaction with a western low has caused a dent on its strength. It is expected to make landfall over Florida state in 48 – 72 hours. It could pour some heavy showers with strong winds of greater than 45 miles per hour, overall it is not a significant storm!
