The world is going to end on December 21, 2012 This is something that you might have been hearing since the release of Hollywood epic-adventure movie ‘2012’ in 2009. The movie has deepened the hype of the world coming to an unhappy end in 2012, before the movie rarely people knew that there is a myth about such catastrophic event.
This is not the first time that doomsday prediction have come forward, it seems as if every year people come with these hoaxes for their financial gains while creating doubts and confusion in the minds of people: 1910 (Halley’s Comet), 1955 (Massive flooding), 1970s (Global cooling), 2000, (the Millennium Bug) and 2003 (Planet Nibiru), there were some of the famous doomsday prediction that never came true.

The Discovery of Planet X (Nibiru)
Planets beyond Neptune are called Planet X. The Nibiru cataclysm is said to be a dangerous encounter between Earth and an unknown planet which could occur on December 21, 2012.
HOAX: It is coming!
Some believers in doomsday in 2012 claim that a planet called Planet X, or Nibiru, will collide with or pass by Earth in that year bringing catastrophic destruction.
FACT: It does not even exist!
NASA has hit back, saying that if such an object was about to hit Earth then it would have been visible to the naked eye similar to Saturn and Jupiter.
The Mayan Calendar
Mayans have been termed the most advanced civilization of its time. The civilization came into being from 2000 BC to 900 AD in the Pre-Columbian society
HOAX: environmental changes are coming!
As the calendar would end, it would mean that the Earth has finally come to its last stages of transformation and a new age would start. The changes could be destructive but after those hardships a new era of stability would start. Many have termed these changes as ‘Judgement day’ as well.
FACT: It’s just a calendar, not a future predicting machine!
Calendar are used for keeping record of time, they are not used for telling the future. Many Mayan scholars believe that their ancestors never made any Judgement day prediction.The believe that there historical Calendar only ends on December 21 and would start again and there is no big issue in it, just like an ordinary Calendar! This is the actual meaning of the Mayan Calendar, they ‘never’ mentioned that the world would end; for example, for the Mayan people the year 2013 is starting hence they termed it ‘a new era’;
